Good skincare starts from finding the right products for your skin condition. It is important to give every product at least a month to work because our skin takes 28 days to renew its self and the majority of products never deliver results overnight. Once you have found the right products, you should start a routine with the following 5 steps:

Step 1: Use a quality cleanser

Cleansing is essential for removing excess oils and impurities that have been trapped on the skin’s surface. The ideal frequency to cleanse your skin, is twice day (morning and evening). Always make sure you use a gentle cleanser that is suitable for your skin type and doesn’t cause irritation.

Also when removing make-up, cleansing wipes are not always enough- Washing your skin with a good cleanser is vital to remove all the impurities that block skin pores.

Step 2: Exfoliate.

Although you don’t need to exfoliate daily, exfoliating 2-3 times a week is important to remove dead skin cells and impurities on a deeper level. Be careful though not to use a harsh exfoliator with big granules to avoid skin irritation.

Step 3: Tone.

After cleansing, Toning is a vital step for balancing the P.H levels of the skin and remove any cleanser residues. Toning also helps fight bacteria and increases skin clarity for a more rejuvenated and glowing complexion. If you have sensitive or very dry skin it’s best to avoid toners with high alcohol content to prevent dryness and irritation.

Step 4: Moisturize.

Regardless of your skin type (even if it’s oily) you need a moisturizer on a daily basis. After you washed and toned your skin a moisturizer will provide the necessary hydration needed to prevent dry, dull and patch skin. If your skin is quite dry, opt for a rich skin moisturizer with anti-oxidants and if your skin is oily or combination using an oil free balancing moisturizer is ideal.

Step 5: Protect.

You skin is exposed daily to many harsh environmental conditions such as dust, wind and sun. Sun especially is one of the factors for causing damage on a cellular level and triggering the production of age spots, wrinkles and saggy skin. Regardless of your age, you should use a sunscreen with an SPF of 30+ after applying your moisturizer. Look for ingredients like Dioxybenzone and Zinc oxide which offer protection from both UVA and UVB rays,
