Meladerm Skin Lightening Cream is a pigment reducing solution from Civant for a blemish free smooth skin. It is supposed to work against hyperpigmentation, sun tan, melasma, age spots/sun spots/ liver spots, freckles, acne scars, old scars, birthmarks, dark elbow, knees, underarms, knuckles and uneven skin tones.

How it Works:
Meladerm skin lightening solution works by targeting melanosome and tyrosinase: two of the most important things that contribute to skin pigmentation. The ingredients used are derived from natural extracts from various plants. Actual percentage of ingredients used is a secret formulation.
Major active ingredients:
- Alpha Arbutin & Kojic acid – both known for their skin lightening effects.
- Tego Cosmo C – a natural derivative that regulates PH levels on skin.
- Gigawhite – derived from swiss alpine plants and used as a preservative-free skin lightener
Other active ingredients in Meladerm include: Licorice Extract, Niacinamide, Mulberry Extract, Bearberry Extract, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Lemon Juice Extract, Emblica Extract & Vitamin C.
Directions for Proper Usage:
The official guidelines recommend applying Meladerm cream twice a day by massaging gently until it gets absorbed into skin after washing and drying the skin. It is also recommended to use a sunscreen along with the cream and to avoid over exposure to sun. The product is Not to be used if you are pregnant or nursing or are below the age of 12.

Meladerm can surely work for you. Make Sure you:
1. Lightly exfoliate before applying, and
2. Apply a good sun screen (Here is one that Meladerm recommends)
Remember, you will lose the wanted and unwanted tan alike.

I must tell you I have never used a cream as good as this in my entire life, I have always struggled with skin problems. I had oily skin so my mother told me a cream would even make it worse. So when I started using the product I thought it would break me out but it did just the opposite and opened up the clogged pores and also helped me with the pigmentation problem that I had. Shouldnt cause any problems But we strongly recommend that you discuss this with a physician or dermatologist. Skin becomes dry and over sensitive during rosacea break outs so its better to be sure than sorry.

Works all year round. In summers be extra careful by applying a good sunscreen after Meladerm. Also remember to cleanse and exfoliate skin before applying Meladerm.

Hydroquinone has been used in most skin whitening/lightening creams because they do lighten the areas topically. BUT studies have revealed that they also make skin more susceptible to UV rays and on continued usage may cause sun burns and even lead to skin cancer. People with sensitive skin have been reported to experience skin irritation and other issues. HOWEVER not every one may experience any serious side effects.
Parabens
They basically improve the shelf life of the cream (*Meladerm uses Airless dispenser for this among other purposes). But parabens can causes allergic reactions and hormonal problems in some. Some people also link it with breast cancer and reproductive health as well.

Meladerm doesnot have any of the harmful skin bleaching chemicals like mercury, hydroquinone, steroids, or parabens. So its pretty safe. But in your case it will be better to consult your dermatologist / physician before hand.
