Homemade Skin Brightening Masks

Homemade Skin Brightening Masks are the ultimate solution for women of all ages who want to use natural ingredients straight from their kitchen or garden without wasting money on expensive products. In fact these homemade masks perform just as good as the one you buy at the beauty counter or drugstore- so if you need quick and inexpensive way to brighten up your skin you should definitely try one of these masks:

Mask No. 4: Sandalwood and Turmeric

This mask is very good for oily and acne-prone skin types with scars. Both Sandalwood and Turmeric are ideal for stimulating blood circulation, absorbing oiliness and breaking down scar tissue. This mask is quite strong so it’s best recommended only for oily or acne-scarred skin types.
To make this mask you will need:
-1 tablespoon of Sandalwood powder
-1 tablespoon Turmeric powder
-3 tablespoons of pure Rosewater
Mix all the ingredients together until you form a paste and apply on the skin d for 15-20 minutes. Remove with a wet cloth or sponge and apply your regular moisturizer to prevent dryness.

Mask No. 3: Tomato and Gram Flour

Tomato has mild exfoliating properties and nutrients that help break down minor skin scars (e.g. tiny scars from acne) while Gram Flour absorbs skin toxins and dead skin cells from the skin’s outer layer. This mask is ideal for all skin types except those who are very dry.
To make this mask you will need:
-Two teaspoons of gram flour
-Two teaspoons of tomato paste or juice.
Then mix them together to make a paste and apply on your face and neck for 15 minutes. Rinse after with lukewarm water.

Mask No. 2: Milk Powder

Milk powder is rich in Lactic Acid- you probably heard that Cleopatra used to bath in milk (which is rich in Lactic Acid) to smoothen and brighten up her skin.
Now you can enjoy similar benefits by making a Milk Powder Mask. This mask is ideal for all skin types- even very dry or sensitive ones. To make this mask you will need:
-1 tablespoon of milk in powder form (cow or goat)
-1 tablespoon of honey
-1 tablespoon of lemon juice
Mix all the ingredients together and apply on cleansed face for 10 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water.

Mask No 1: Honey and Lemon

This is one of my favorite ones… Btw Honey and Lemon masks are ideal for all skin types and especially oily, combination and scarred skin types. Lemon is rich in AHAs which exfoliate the skin and help break down pigmentation while honey is rich in nutrients that nourish and repair the skin. To make this mask you will need:
-1 Tablespoon of Honey (preferably organic)
-1 Tablespoon of Lemon Juice.
Then mix the Honey and Lemon juice together under you form a creamy liquid and apply to the skin for 15 minutes. (Tip: To prevent drippings all over the place get a tissue and apply directly on the mask.) Rinse with lukewarm water and you are done…

But if you dont have the time for these homemade therapies or you just dont want to go through the hassle you could check this wonderful skin brightening cream from Revitol. I tried it and had wonderful results 🙂

  • I have been suffering from sun damage with minor acne scars. Over the past few weeks i have been using honey and lemon mask to lighten up my skin. This mask once a week as part of a regime with a glycolic cleanser is working the way i wanted it to work. It's very inexpensive so it's worth a shot.

    • I also had a condition of sun aftereffects, A friend of mine told me to use eggs for my skin condition, It was an inexpensive procedure so I gave it a shot, To my surprise it actually worked.

All I had to do was:
Beat an egg until its frothy and apply it onto my skin, Let it dry and then wash it off, I also added a bit of lavender oil to ease off the smell of egg.
Maybe this could work for you too…
