In most cases teenage acne fades off eventually, but boy it does seem like living through eternity before that happens. There are a few (infact quiet a few) acne treatments available in the market. Some work and others dont, and still some may work for few and not for others. I found it to be hit and miss type of thing.

Before you begin to try out all the acne treatments: go natural. Here are a few natural remedies that you can try at home. Let me know if they work for you as well.

1. Fenugreek

This infamous plant has roots back in India, and there it has been used since centuries for its anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and soothing action on the skin.

What to do:
Add a few seeds of Fenugreek into water and boil it for at least 15 minutes. Allow the liquid to cool down, then strain out the seeds. Take a cotton swab, apply the water to your acne scars. In addition, you can also make a paste out of fenugreek leaves and easily use it as a face mask.

It is recommended to follow this practice for at least a week on a daily basis to see a noticeable reduction in the acne scars.

2. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is obtained from the leaves of the aloe plant. The beauty benefits of aloe vera are in abundance, and reducing acne scars is undeniably one of the most effective benefits of aloe vera. Also, use fresh gel like substance directly from the aloe vera leaf than use over the counter products containing aloe vera.

What to do:

Take a leaf of an aloe plant and peel out its outermost green layer to scoop the inner jelly. Now scoop out the inner jelly with the help of a spoon and apply only a little quantity of this jellylike substance directly on your acne. Leave the jelly on the affected area for some time and then wash off.

Repeat this process at least twice a day, allowing the gel for 30 minutes each time to see effective results.

3. Olive oil

Olive oil is another excellent home-based remedy that aids in reducing acne scars dramatically. This particular oil is irrefutably a miracle substance that helps in providing nourishment to the skin. The oil will help in reducing acne scars and also help from future breakouts.

What to do:

Pour few drops of olive oil in your hand then massage the oil on acne scars every night before going to bed. Massage the affected area gently for a few minutes till the time you feel that all the oil has been absorbed by your skin. Take a clean towel and drape it into warm water. Then put the warm wet cloth on your face and gently wipe away the excess oil with the towel.

Olive oil is incredibly skin friendly as it contains lots of Vitamins A, D, E, B1 and B2), iron and antioxidants. Apply olive oil to your scars every night at least for a week.
